How to configure for Slidescan 4000

Is there anyone who can help me with the following questions:

1) Is there a 'default' configuration which has at least the same quality as the default software that comes with the Slidescan 4000?

2) How do I configure SilverFast so it will scan 50 or 100 slides from magazines without interference?

3) I want to see if Silverfast has better output, currently one of the problems I have is that 'scanlines' are visible (mostly in darker slides).

4) How can I configure the 'remove dust' option for the Slidescan 4000?
