Can't select correct media

I'm so far "only" using the Demo version of SilverFast Ai Studio 8.8 (with Reflecta RPS 10M).

When scanning b/w negative film and I select 'Negative', it only results in the message "Please insert the correct media", and I still have a negative prescan picture. Thats a kind of nostalgically feeling from the days in the darkroom, but I want it invertet to a positive picture. How?

And scanning mounted Kodachrome DIA and select 'Kodachrome' results in the same message "Please insert the correct media". What's more correct than Kodachrome? ;-)

Dear user,

This is a message that is issued by the scanner. It come up when the scanner can not detect the inserted film material.

Please make sure the scanner has the latest firmware installed. The firmware (a 64kb size .bin file) can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website and transferred to the scanner through the CyberView Help menu.
The issue you describe can be caused by an outdated Firmware.

Thank you for the answer, but I already have the latest firmware.
And, BTW, is it the scanner that "tells" Silverfast which media it is? I thought I manually selected correct media.

The error refers to which feed is being used. The scanner states that it can not detect if a filmstrip or slide is inserted.

For me it helped to load the film into the scanner while SilverFast is starting.
