Plustek OpticFilm 7300 demo doesn't start on OSX 10.7 Lion

Hello,

I've successfully installed the demo of Silverfast 8 (SF-8.0.0r1(Plustek).dmg) on my MacBook, s/n W88452WM1AX late 2008 13" MacBook with OSX Lion 10.7.1.

The Software detects the USB scanner in the drop box above the language selection, but when I click "Start" on SF8, it says "there was a problem detecting your scanner. Please make sure the drivers are installed correctly. Exiting now..."

There are no drivers that I know of for Plustek 7300 on Mac OSX 10.7 and everything on the website says that this scanner is and should be compatible with this OS as it was with 10.6.

Please help me resolve this issue.

Thanks,
Elenko

Dear Elenko,

the driver we got is a 32-bit driver so you must start the application in 32-bit mode.

Hello. I had the same problem with my Plustek 7500 after installing Silverfast 8. I re-started Lion in 32 bit mode, but that didn't help. How do I run Silverfast 8 in 32 bit mode?

It works now. Thank you very much. (Have only scanned a few negs and am still getting the hang of it, but so far, Silverfast 8 seems to be a pretty solid improvement.)
