Serial Number fails OS 10.3.9

I have tried to install and activate Silverfast 6.5.5.r2 that came with Plustek Optifilm 7300. The error message came up about re=inserting the cd, etc. I contacted Plustek support who have been very patient and they have sent me several SF disks but I have the same problem. I have found the posting that MAC users need to be at administrator/root when serializng SF. I want to ask fellow Mac Users is this the case before I go in and start activating the root administrator. I am the administrator on my iMac, but have not activated the root user. Thanks in advance, rj

Dear Redjamie,

the problem could really have beend the CD as the first revisions of the Plustek 7300 where shipped with Windows only CDs so even if you downloaded the Mac version from our Website you could not unlock it with the SilverFast CD included with the Scanner. Please ensure if there is an actual Mac version of SilverFast on your replacement CDs if not you need to get the right CD from Plustek(the one which includes the Mac Version so you are able to unlock it).
If you allready have a propper CD and it is still not "unlocking" please contact us via the Support Assistant.

Hi: Thank you for that piece of information. How is the CD identified as being for the Mac? I have a suspicion that I have 3 sets of PC cds.
Thanks Again, rj
