Dear Mr. Frary,

the Microtek ArtixScan 1800f is currently not supported for Mac OS X 10.5 due to changes in the operating system.
On our supported Scanners Website you can subscribe to a RSS feed which will inform you about any changes regarding this issue.

Hello,
I have similar problems since installing Leopard OS X 10.5. The Photoshop Plug in that routes to Silverfast freezes when the attempt to scan is activated. The scanner freezes and so does both Silverfast and Photoshop CS3. There are obvious advantages to working directly through Photoshop CS3. My model of scanner is Epson 1680 Professional.
No matter how many times I have reinstalled the Lasersoft software for the Epson through Photoshop or reinstalled PHotoshop CS3, this problem has remained since Leopard was loaded. I can't use your software anymore.

And, by the way, as a standalone, it works perfectly fine.

Dear Al Naclerio,

please not that you would need at least SilverFast 6.5.0r3 for Photoshop CS3.
There is also still a litle conflict caused by installed NIK plugin but NIK told us that they fix in beginning of the next year.
Please note that there is also a workaround for the NIK plugin issue:
You would need to remove the NIK Plugin folder form your Photoshop CS3 Plugin directory. Just copy it somewhere else. Now you need to create an alias of the .plugin file and drag it back to the Photoshop CS3 plugin folder.

This is not working 100%.

The problem seems to be the "SelectivePalette.plugin" from NIK. This is required to apply the NIK effects onto a new layer. So if I copy the NIK directory to a new location and create the aliases, as soon as I create a alias for the SelectivePalette, SilverFast stops working. If I delete the alias, everything works. But then I´m stuck with having to set all the NIK filters to apply the effects to the currents layer, which...sucks. :-)
My config: Leopard, PS CS4, 6.6.0rc4.

Dear Lasr,

I am sorry that the workaround is not working for you .

NIK is working on a fix for this behavior but I can not tell when this will be ready.

Ive got similar problem with canoscan 8800f.

Silverfast doesnt launch as a standalone program (6.5.5r2) and as a PS plugin too - In CS3 it shows an information: "Could not complete the Import command because a requested property value could not be found."

Previous version of silverfast which i get with my scanner had the same problem.

My conf. is Mac OSC 10.5.6, CS3, Canoscan 8800f.

Dear Customer,

sadly I can not give you any new information on this as it is really up to NIK to do the fix.
