Silverfast AI Studio 8.5.x pauses when in the background

This has been happening to me for a long time so it's not something new. If I start a 3 pass HDRi/RAW scan and put Silverfast in the background to work in other applications Silverfast will complete the current scan pass but sometimes pauses indefinitely until I bring Silverfast AI Studio front most again. At that point Silverfast AI Studio will begin the next scan pass. This doesn't happen every time and I haven't quite figured out the exact conditions to reproduce this reliably but it occurs very frequently for me. It seems to happen most often if Silverfast AI Studio is completely obscured by the new front most application or if the other application is running in a different "Space" or running full screen. It feels like Silverfast is not receiving "events" since it is in the background and completely obscured. This situation causes Silverfast to not advance to the next scan pass.

Dear customer,

Are you using Mac OS X?
There is an OS X function called App nap that does this.
You can deactivate it for SilverFast.
Go into the directory /Applications/SilverFast Application/ and right-click on the SilverFast 8.app in there.
Click the "Get info" in the context mane and there will be a checkbox for app nap.
Deactivate that.

Here is a link to full help page.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Sorry, yes I'm running El Capitan (10.11.1). Good to know! Wish I had asked this question sooner. I disabled App Nap for Silverfast and all subsequent scans made in the background have completed successfully. Thanks Arne...
