OS X 10.9 Mavrericks

Is Silverfast8 supported on Mac OS X 10.9? Anyone upgrade? If so any issues?

It seems that my scanner is not supported in the versions of SilverFast Launcher that works in OS X10.9.5 Mavericks.
I own a Microtek ScanMaker i700. It looks like the i800 is supported.
Can anyone explain to me why my particular scanner is not supported, when nearly identical ones are?

Dear customer,
Microtek has canceled support for the i700.
They have not upgraded the drivers for OS X
10.7 and newer.
Without compatible drivers we unfortunately can not offer
SilverFast 8 for your device at this moment.
This might change in the future but this information would only be available from
Microtek.
