Some time ago I downloaded a "fully functioning" SF5.5 demo for a Polaroid SS120 scanner.
I was surprised and disappointed to find that the IT8 Calibration feature was no longer present as it use to be in SilverFast 5.2.
I presumed from that fact that I was working with a fully functioning demo that this feature was no longer being supported in SilverFast 5.5. And so I decided to stick with my older SilverFast 5.2 that did support it.
Recently though when visiting your site I happened to look into the pricing section for the for the Polaroid SS120 and saw "SilverFast standard full version 5.5 for new customers - With IT8 calibration: 359.00"
I downloaded the latest version of the "fully Functioning" SilverFast 5.5 to try it out.
I was confused when I found that for the new "Fully Functioning" demo version for Polaroid SS120 that the IT8 Calibration feature still was not present.
I contacted the SilverFast help desk for clarification. (Thanks for providing this service; I wish other software vendors would support their products like you do)
I was and was told that the IT8 feature in the demo version was disabled.
Suggestion (1)
Change "fully functioning demo" to something that indicates The IT8 feature in the Demo has been removed.
Question 1
Why have SilverFast cosen to disable this feature in a demo for the SS120?
- There are no non-IT8 purchasing options for the Polaroid SS120.
- IT8 is specific to a particular scanner
- Even with a Non-IT8 version of the software you couldn't load a pirated IT8 calibration file created by a demo version, even if you had one.
Much thanks for your Forum!
Regards
Peter
