Hello,

is it possible to combine different tools (lasso AND polygon) in the same mask when using SRD ? When defects are located neaur to each other, the polygon tools is more convenient whereas the lasso is more appropriate to treat isolated defects.

yes that is possible you can add to existing masks using another tool.

Thank you for your fast answer to my post.
I took the risk to contradict you because I noticed that SF AiStudio "collapsed" several times (but not every time) at the very end of the scanning, during the dust removal sequence (which is, by the way, very CPU intensive and may also require intensive hard disk access if the mask has many elements). So I tried again to perform a scan using an inverse mask using only the polygon tool and it succeed ! I made two other scans in similar conditions, one of them with an inverse polygonal mask having a great number of elements. Finally, a fourth scan combining two layers (the first one being the SRD on the full image and the second one using the brush to remove some larger defects) was also successful.
The common factor for these (at last) successful scans is the fact that I used only one tool at a time(by layer when there was two layers). This makes me suspect that the previous failures were related to the use of two different tools in the same layer.

Of course, I am open to other attempts if it can help understanding the problem.
