Colors are way off!

Been working with my Plustek 7600i SE for a few weeks and I am not getting the results I've been reading from other users. Initial when I do a "prescan" the colors are pretty spot on. I make a few adjustments to my liking and do the final scan but the results are completely off the charts. Occasionally, I'll get a "good" result but the colors are still off. The example I have is the most extreme color shift I encounter. The top shot is the "Prescan" and the bottom is the final "Scan".
Anyone got any suggestions or solution? Is there something wrong with my scanner or is it my settings? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Dear customer,
this issue might be caused by outdated drivers.
Please disconnect the scanner from your Mac.
Then delete the "Plustek7600.framework" folder in /Library/Frameworks.
After that install the latest SilverFast
update from our website.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

I am having the same issue. Have a look at the two shots. The screen shot is the pre scan and the Image is post scan. See the link for the images.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ndrd9oqf40k4yxt/LY3qgeR1K6I looked for the Plustek7600.framework" folder in /Library/Frameworks and deleted it. Then reinstalled the software. This has been getting progressively worse with each new release of the software.

I seems
Plustek was now able to find the source for this issue and is currently writing new drivers to crorrect this.

Same here.
Upgraded to 8.0.1r15 as soon as it was available, worked well but today the problem happened to me, the final scans are a lot darker and with different color casts.
Did what suggested by Arne, no way.
Erased again the Framework folder then installed 1.14, same problem.
Upgraded to 1r15 but the problem remains.
I process one or two rolls a time without stopping unless there is a problem.
Also noticed sometimes the scan speed is much slower but cannot connect the slow speed to the problem.
Another fact is that the bad scans start to happen at the 4th or 5th image at each beginning of session.
I use a 27" iMac with Lion.
Hope you can find a quick fix, thanks.

Arne, for your information I have installed the update 8.0.1r16 after deleting all 7xxx.framework folders in /Library/Frameworks.
The situation hasn't changed unfortunately, the problem still exists.
So the new upgrade does not solve the problem.

Hi
I also encountered similar issues mostly in scanning negatives and sometimes in slides, using Plustek 7600i and SF 8.0.1r16 (updated last week). I'm wondering the status of the new driver.
I noticed that this problem correlates strongly with the scanning speed and happens when ME is on. If the scan is very slow, it usually means I'll get a strong color cast in the end. I usually just aborted the scan and retry.
I tried several workarounds like resizing the frame to make sure the frame only covers the film area (sometimes this works), restarted the scanner and SF after closed SF and turned off the scanner (sometimes this may work), or turned off ME and scan once, and turned ME back on. But it seems that none of the above is bullet proof.

I just got my brand new Plustek today and I have the same problem!
This is so utterly frustrating! It worked perfectly and then the colours started going completely off.
Please tell me there is a solution for this. Did I waste all my money buying this very expensive scanner so that all my images can have an ugly blue filter over it?

Dear users,
Plustek has now sent us new drivers.
These are included in
SilverFast 8.0.1r19.
In case the issue remains the drivers might not have been updated correctly.
In case this does not help delete the Plustek8200.framework folder from:
/Library/Frameworks
Then please reinstall the latest
SilverFast 8.0.1r19.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn

I have done everything you suggested. I have deleted the Plustek8200 framework folder and reinstalled.
Still no difference. I'm so bleak about this.

Dear Grethal,
that is strange in our tests the issue did not occur anymore.
Have you already contacted
Plustek about this?
Maybe you experience a hardware issue.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Dear Arne,
unfortunately I have the same problem like Grethal. I´m using a Plustek 8100 and also tried to reinstall Silverfast and deleting the Frameworks a couple of times.
I don´t think it is a hardware problem cause the colour-cast-problem doesn´t occur with Hamrick´s v**s**n.
Are you at Silverfast still working on the problem?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Nils

No this can not be fixed by us.
This is caused by the manufacturer drivers.
Other software is known to use simpler drivers which are not compatible with SilverFast.
kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
