Blurring on left side of scanned slide images

I am having a problem with scanning some of my slides where they become blurred on the left side of the image. This does not appear in the prescan, only the final image. It looks as though the scan does not finish, though most of the image is there. Please see example below. This does not happen with all of my scans, only some (but often), and seems to happen randomly. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dear customer,

first make sure you have the latest update installed.

Then try moving the scan frame closer to the image content.
The effect is caused by the dense unexposed material at the edge of the image.
Some borders block the infrared channel and are therefor detected as a defect.

kind regards,

I have the latest update installed, and have moved the scan frame closer to the image content. The effect is worse for some slides and occurs across the image - see example below. This only occurs when using iSRD; is the only option to deactivate it?

That is kind of strange.
Have you checked the infrared channel already?

Activate the 1:1 preview in the iSRD dialog.
Then hold the following keys pressed while you click into the preview window with the mouse.
Windows: <shift> and <Ctrl>
Mac: <shift> and <command>
The infrared channel will be shown as a black&white image.

It normally should only display dust and scratches in black.
The image itself should not be visible.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
