Yellow Cast on scanned images

Hi

I have a Plustek OpticFilm 7600i with iSRD and have upgraded to SilverFast 8.0.

Most of the films I have scanned in have been Kodak Gold and have been scanned in fine (after adjusting the negafix settings), however I have one film that does not have a specific brand and just states CP 100 on it. When I scan it as vendor 'other' I get a yellow cast on the images. I have gone through all the vendors in the list (leaving the film type as the default) and most leave the yellow cast and one or two seem to leave a blue cast.

I have also tried multiple negatives on the film and they all come out the same even though the few developed photos I have seem to be the correct colour.

Are there any settings I can change to remove this yellow cast or is it possible to get a new profile for this film type (though I really cannot tell you what type of film it is.

Thank you
Keith

Dear Keith,

WIth an unknown film a trial and error search is unfortunately the only way to find a fitting profile.

In SilverFast Ai Studio you can also adjust film curves in the NegaFix expert settings and save those as custom profiles.

You can also use the neutral pipette tool to remove a color cast from an image.
simply select it from the Pipette tool button and click on an area which should be neutral gray.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
