...is there any smart workaround to scan such negatives? Would it be possible e. g. to previes scan the 6x4,5 holder as 6x12 and then reduce the frame for the final scan?

Yes you could chose a larger film format if available.
Have you tried it?

...that way it is only possible to cover the first 2 pictures in the holder:

not very satisfying :(

We just released a new version (8.0.1r27) for your scanner.
It contains improvements regarding the image and holder selection.

The missing film offset capability is currently examined by Plustek.

Currently you will have to turn your film around manually ant so scan the other side of the film.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn

Arne,
thank you for this information!

Were are the improvements in version 8.0.1r27 in Detail? When scanning some 24x36 Negatives i see no difference to before. I only have the intention that the processing speed after scanning has been improved.

Dear customer,

unfortunately our change log for the r27 is not online yet.
As soon as my colleague has put this online you will find the list of changes there.
We are continuously trying to improve the processing time.

Kind regards,
Arne

Hallo Herr Ketelhohn,

Arne Ketelhohn.

I just got the Plustek opticfilm 120 scanner and I have a problem with that also where the 120 6x6 folder is not scanned in its entirety and crops on one side of the holder. Is this a software or hardware issue. I am using the silverfast version 8.0.1.r18 I downloaded the newstest one and it was even worse with how its handles the holders I can't get it to scan the whole holder with a strip of film just a frame which defeats the purpose of having a holder that holds a strip of film. I have had to regress to the older version of the software just to be able to scan a strip, although that crops the side of the holder. Am I doing something wrong?

Dear cusomer,

You should contact Plustek about that issue.

Also the scanner can only scan images one at a time.
Therefor several images must be scanned in batch mode or using the JobManager.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

I am new to this forum. I am very close to purchasing the Plustek Opticfilm 120 with the LaserSoft SilverFast Ai Studio software. So its a year later, has the issue discussed been fixed? I look forward to your reply. Steven Baron, photojournalist
