Take a victory lap, guys/gals! The new SilverFast works!
I hadn?t checked out the site for a while...just resigned myself to using v**s**n. Lo & Behold--there?s a new version of SF out as of yesterday.
Downloaded and tried it. (One quirk: Installer didn?t see my Photoshop 7 on my Startup drive...it saw it on a backup drive, and other older versions.) I installed the plugin manually.
Works like a charm. Looks a little nicer, too. I don?t think it?s using my old prefs, though. I think that?s probably a result of having reinstalled SF repeatedly over the past few months trying to get it to work.
I think this is a vindication, too, that it wasn?t our equipment. I?m on a PowerMac G4/450 AGP (Sawtooth) with an Adaptec 2930U card, running Panther v 10.3.2.
