Microtek Artix 4000t to work with Mac OS X-Panther

I use a "Microtek Artix 4000t"scanner the SCSI Adaptec AVA-2903 and the Mictrotek software (Scanwizard Pro TX) and "Silverfast IV 5.0", the bundle runs fine on OS 9.2. (Which I keep on a extra HD on a ?Mac G4 733? exclusively for this scanner).

I?m fed-up with switching operating Systems and waiting for the upgrade from microtek for this scanner. It is under testing for more than 2 years now.

I want to upgrade my OS X to ?Panther?.
And I?m looking for a solution to keep working with this scanner on OSX Panther.

I?ve read on this forum some suggestions that aren?t very clear if they are workable on this specific scanner ?ARTIX 4000 T?

1-FireWire to SCSI Adapter (F5U541) from Belkin. Is this indispensable or advisable?
And if so, what is the advantage?

2- To which version (if any) of SilverFast should I upgrade?

3- Is it possible to demo test the software first?

I will appreciate any help suggestions or experiences!

Thanks

Dear Micro SF 5.

Thanks for your interest in our SilverFast Software.

We have tested the scanner positive with the Belkin Adapter under OSX Panther. Since SCSI is big problem issue under OSX, I advice you to go for the Belkin.
For OSX you will need the most actual version of SilverFast 6.
Please use our demo version available here --> https://www.silverfast.com/sf-download/d ... roduct=182

Kind regards.
