Mirage II question

Hi,

I have a Mirage II that is working fine under OS 9, but not Panther. It's not even seen in the SCSI menu in OS X , but shows up fine using SCSI probe in OS 9. I can see the Adaptec 2930 card under the PCI/AGP slots info too and can see my Jaz drive on the SCSI chain, but not the scanner.

I don't think I need to move the card since I can in fact see it fine in OS 9. Any ideas what might be causing the problem? Whomever installed the Adaptec card stripped the screw to get it out, so I'm hoping there's a workaround.

Thanks,
Dave

Dear Dave

by OS 9 I suspect you refer to a second partition with a real OS 9 installed, not the so-called "classic environment".
OS 9 differs from OS X when it comes to drivers. You might want to go ahead to Adaptec's website, download and install their latest SCSI drivers for OS X. For ease of things, I provide the link to the download page here (not meaning to harm any of Adaptec's rights to their driver software):

Also, please note that for Panther I really want to advise you to update OS X to 10.3.2 (or higher) and SilverFast to the latest version - available for free on our website for all users of SilverFast 6.
Earlier versions than 6.1.0r5 are likely to fail under Panther.
