Sooooo......Still waiting for a solution for the Linoscan 2650
:cry:

Better firewire support in 10.3.1?

Apple's change log is IMHO relatively vague (see for yourself http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120271 ), especially concerning the firewire support.

However, I got reports from users who now are able to connect to their Epson 3200 scanners via firewire under Panther 10.3.1.

So, if you were stuck to USB before and want your Epson running with IEEE1394, you might want to give it try (N.B. please always use the latest update of SilverFast. Thank you).

Confused..

What does this have to do with My Linoscan 2650?

as far as I know there is no support for firewire from you on this scanner
unless you have just posted it within the last 24 hours.

I have not heard any positive comments about getting us drivers for this scanner for a while now .....are we... or are we not going to get some kind of support for this scanner under MAC OSX Panther.

If not let me know so I can revert to old system and move on. :roll:

Solution available

Salvation is there:
https://www.silverfast.com/sf-download/ai6/en.html

Select -> Heidelberg -> Linoscan 2650

Please note that your SCSI controller card has to be displayed in the Apple System Profiler. If your Panther installation doesn't detect your SCSI adapter it is quite unlikely that SilverFast will work with it.
Sorry, I know this is bad news for owners of Adaptec 2906 cards...
