Linoscan 2650 and Panther

I have AI version 6 and it does not work under Panther using Adaptec 2906 SCSI card. Can't find scanner..It works under 9.2.2. Will it work using Firewire or USB? I have not seen any FW or USB version for Lino 2650 yet. Do you think it would work if I changed SCSI card to Adaptec 2930?

Will it work in 10.2.8 Jaguar with Adaptec 2906? Does anyone else have a Lino 2650? Please create good driver for Panther soon~! Thanks!

No other 2650 drivers

There are no other drivers, BECAUSE its not a driver problem. Its a SCSI card problem !

1. Did you check all ID channels from your SCSI card ?
2. Did you have an clean Panther system (no Update)
3. What does ADAPTEC say ? Is 2906 card ready for panther ?

Please check. I think next week we start testing this scanner too. :-)

Check my post in Jaguar problems under Panther and see what Sperling's
response was to my question.

Then I read this post that was made several days later.

Why is he asking you to go to all the trouble if they no about the problem.
I have been e-mailed as well and they said that Lasersoft not Apple nor Adaptec would resolve this issue. So I am waiting on a fix!

Lets just hope it is soon.

Panther Problems

Adaptec had me run through a bunch of tests and it was confirmed that both the card works (scsi 2906) and the different ID's are recognozed. By going into the terminal window you can check scsi ID's.

So, the problem is definitly a Software issue. It works under OS 9.2.2 why would that be? Only because the software is non-compatible with Panther. Also, what about FW or USB support for the Lino 2650? Will that ever happen?

Thanks.

I also have a 2650 and am stuck in OS 9.2.2. I posted on the Linotype board earlier this year;
viewtopic.php?t=1490

the president replied in April and said:

you can be sure FireWire will be supported for that scanner.

I can't wait!

By the way this is Linotype's fault not Lasersofts, but I'm hoping that Lasersoft will come to the rescue.
