Future support for Minolta ?

Hello -

Do you have any policy on continued support for Minolta scanners ? I am of course aware that this is becoming increasingly difficult as time goes on and drivers get more and more out of date, but up until now, for my model, Dimage Scan Multi Pro, everything works fine with Mac OS X 10.5.8 and 10.6.2 (actually I'm a bit puzzled by a comment in another thread that this scanner is "slow" - mine isn't particularly, and certainly hasn't got any slower over time and OS versions). I can appreciate that there could be some difficult tech support issues, but certainly as far as I'm concerned Silverfast AI Studio is a lifeline! I guess there are commercial return on investment issues too....

Specifically, do you plan to add support for iSRD for compatible Minolta scanners ? This alone might make me upgrade to the full HDR suite. Also, is it intended that Silverfast 7, when it arrives, will still support Minolta ? Actually with the demise now of the last Nikon scanners from the catalogue, this must be a question for them as well.

Personally although I have very much embraced digital, I want to continue with film, and hopefully Silverfast will continue to help me to do that...

Thanks
David Mantripp

Dear Mr. Mantripp,

We currently support the Minolta from Mac OSX up to and including 10.6.2.
Our intention is to keep supporting the devices.

We currently only support digital ICE for windows systems.
We have already opened a iSRD feature request for the scanners that have an IR channel available.
But it is still unknown when this will be implemented.

kind regards

Any further update regarding iSRD and the Minolta 5400?

Dear Bobrapp,

The situation remains the same, until now there is not a specific time frame for this project.
