Raw Data Format

I'd like to be able to scan a large number of 35mm slides before processing them. From page 58 of the SF Ai 6 User's Manual I see that:
"SilverFast offers the output of 48 bit files as pure, uncorrected 'raw data format'. The corresponding selections for this kind of data are '48 bit HDR colour' and '16 bit HDR greyscale'. These two selections wil deliver the 'raw data' read by the hardware ?as is? (unchanged) as RGB file in uncompressed TIFF format."
but I don't see any reference in the manual as to how I would subsequently process them. Can I do so with Ai 6 and if so: 1. how do I open a raw image? 2. can I use all of the processing tools, including SDR dust and scratch removal?
