Adaptec 29160N drivers don't work with Panther/SF6.x

For those of you who might be in the same boat.

I spent a week trying to get SF6.2.0r1 for my Minolta DiMAGE Scan Multi II to work in Panther (using 10.3.2). I use a G4 dual 500 mhz with 1.5 gb of RAM and 344 gb of hd space and an Adaptec 29160N SCSI PCI card (firmware revison v2).

The Adaptec drivers 1.2 and 1.3.0beta1 will not work. The system profiler shows the PCI card and the Minolta scanner, but the software couldn't find the scanner.

I finally gave up and went back to a clean install of 10.2.8 and the Adaptec 1.2 driver and it seems to work correctly.

Good luck,

Mark Tuttle

Dear user,

we are looking forward to the Adaptec developers to bring up the Panther drivers soon for this card.
