Focus controls

Hi,
I've recently started using Silverfast AI for Minolta Scan Multi Pro on mac OS X. I'm very pleased with it, it gets more out of the scanner than the Minolta software or v**s**n.
One issue bugs me though: the focus options are not so easy to understand and do not appear to be documented anywhere. What I'm looking for is the ability to simply set the AF point manually (not the focus, just the focus point). In "P" mode I get a hunch that this is effectively what I do if I leave the offset at 0.0. True ?
