LaserSoft Imaging

I just starting using the SF for the 5400 and none too happy. I cannot get a prescan on very low resolution. The batch mode does not work. I have rebooted 3 or 4 times to reset thinking I did not do somthing right. I tried a single scan on the slide holder under transpacency. It looked OK but vvvery slow scan ans I turned off all the features (i believe) just to try out the software.

The batch mode does not work at all. I am not a sure where to start

Please which SilverFast version and which operating systen do you use

This software install is a disaster. I have had the Minolta software which came with the machine working fine for 2 months. I loaded the Silverfast version and when I scanned on Windows Xp it scanned a third and then stopped.

I finally unloaded both the Silverfast and Minolta; loaded Silverfast got it finally working but its scanning and operation is still slow (Dell WIndows XP 1 gb of memory)when compare to the Minolta package. It does matter if its 2700 dpi or 1350, it still very slow for scanning.

I am now trying to load the IT8 which the barcode cannot be read by the scanner. The reference file is not printed anywhere for the eye to see and I dont have lupe to find it. What is the reference file number/name/etc.

So now what?
