Is there intention to release version of Silverfast for Minolta's new 5400 DPI 35mm scanner?

If yes, what is roughly the timeframe to expect?

Thanks,
Sergey

Any update on the Minolta 5400. I know schedule releases can be hard to predict but I am an anxious customer.

Sorry for the delay. It's currently hard to tell, because we are depending on some information from Minolta, but it cannot take too long now.

I would like to see one small feature that is not in the Minolta 5400 software supplied by Minolta. I would like to specify the number of negative frames.
Minolta always uses 6, but most of mine are 4.
It wastes time to do an index scan of 2 blank frames.

I'm afraid that our communication path to the Minolta scanner will also only allow a "full" index scan, not a limited one to some range of frames.

Upgrade?

So, I am planning on upgrading to this scanner. Can we switch to this version of Silverfast for the upgrade price?

So, you currently have a Minolta Multi Pro and are a registered SilverFast user?

Actually, I'm a registered Silverfast user using a Polaroid Sprintscan 4000. I'm still kind of hoping that one can switch from Silverfast designed for one scanner to Silverfast designed for another without paying full price.

Got a DiMage 5400 two days ago. Although the supplied software works -sort of- I cannot wait for SilverFast. Just downloaded the Multi-Pro demo and will toy with it. In the meanwhile, please hurry!

As a registered user of two other versions (5.5 Ai for Umax PL3 and 6.0 Ai for Epson 2400) I hope I can get a price consideration too.

Update,

Installed the Minolta demo (PS701 Plug-In), scanned a Kodak Gold 400 negative with my DSE5400 and an Ilford HP5+ B&W neg at the max resolution. Results are as expected from SF6Ai, which is to say spot-on. What's keeping us from the official version? Can I volunteer for the 0.9 beta?

Best regards,

--Jorge.
