sorry to disagree, but LaserSoft Imaging AG made no claim about supporting the ICE/FARE feature in the
Canon CanonScan FS4000US.
Quite contrary, we explicitely and openly said that this feature is not supported in this scanner:

Also, please note that any potential customer does have the opportunity to download and evaluate the
demo version of the software before buying it, or contacting support for more information that s/he for whatever reason could not find on our website.
Furthermore, we recently included additional features to SilverFast
update versions: This way customers got more than what they originally paid more.
