Offset adjustment in thumbnail view

Postby nmcg » Fri Jul 22, 2011 3:17 pm

I have been scanning a lot of 6cm x 12cm negatives with my coolscan9000 by scanning a left and a right and then stitching them together. However it is time consuming to have to do a new prescan everytime I want to use the film strip offset tool. It would be much easier to be able to line it up in a thumbnail type view that took a lot less time.

Dear customer,

depending on the film holder SilverFast offers filmstrip overview options.

Best regards

Firstly, sorry for posting this topic twice. I guess I tried once and didn't see it for a couple days so I tried again.

Anyways, I am using a coolscan9000 with the medium format glass holder. What sort of offset overview options are there and how do I work with them? Thanks!

Hi there,

There is an offset tool in SilverFast for the Nikon units.

You can find it on the toolbar (see screenshot)

Clicking the button once will change the cursor from the tipical arrow to one arrow with a line at one end, that line (and not the arrowhead ) marks the beginning of the picture, you can switch direction of the arrow by holding the shift key pressed to mark the other end (or beginning)

cheers
