Automation - a good thing

At some point in the workflow, I find I am always performing the same task - which I believe can be automated.
I always Transfer the Brightest/Darkest Point to the Multiple Densitometer and then want to find middle gray. I do this each time I process a scan (in HDR Studio) or while I scan (in Ai Studio).
Isn't this something that can automatically calculated by the software by default? Allowing the user to turn of this feature or modify the results if desired, of course.
Another quick win (and current annoyance) is having to manually request a Preview when I go into the iSRD and SRD functions. Since you know I've entered the module, why can't the preview be run for me, immediately? It would be appreciated.
And it would be nice if you could fix the frame finding functionality.
The software fals to identify and maximize the available film when in mounted slides, in filmstrips on a flatbed and in a Nikon scanner. You provide a starting point, but each image has to be adjusted; a time-consuming process.
Looking forward to the Beta. Do you have a tentative date yet?
