Any plans for creating a profile for Kodak Ektar 100? Until one is generated, which profile do you recommend? (I've found that UC100 seems to work fairly well.)

regards,
Seth

Dear Skalson,

It is not included in our near future plans to create a profile for the emulsion Kodak Ektar 100. In this case you can select one profile which accomodates your needs and then edit the curves to make it match your film emulsion.

Bear in mind that the edition of NegaFix curves is only possible in SilverFast Ai and Ai Studio using the expert mode dialog.

For information on working with NegaFix and editing/creating your NegaFix profiles please follow the next link t download an pdf guide:

thanks for your interest

I would also like to echo the desire for a Negafix profile for Ektar 100; I'm just about to scan my first roll and would prefer to have an accurate profile.

Ektar 100 is really ideal for scanning, thinner and more transparent. So I echo the request.

Dear SilverFast users

I have to quote my previous statement here:

LSI_Morales wrote:It is not included in our near future plans to create a profile for the emulsion Kodak Ektar 100.

The main reason for this is, that the creation of a NegaFix profile for the film in question is not possible at this time, the special targets needed for the calibration and creation of any NegaFix profiles do not exist for this type of emulsion (Ektar 100) at the moment.

Those targets are absolutely necessary and without them this task can not be accomplished.

As soon as the targets are available, we will happily acquire a copy of these and create the respective profile. In the meantime the option available is to create your own profiles using SilverFast Ai or Ai Studio and the material provided on our website and mentioned in my last posting.

Thank you very much for your understanding and apologies for any inconveniences.

Cheers
