I've noticed that for some reason performing a preview scan when in transparency mode using the M1 (i'm sure F1 as well) it performs it's autofocus dance and calibration routine which takes more than a minute. It would be nice to be able to force a fast preview scan just so I can set my scan area and zoom in to refine that area faster.

please note that you can disable Autofocus for the prescan. I hope this solves your issue.
