Dear Ruth,
switiching Neagfix off is included already by choosing <Linear> from the "ASA/ISO" dropdown menu in
negafix dialogue. Choosing a linear "correction" is just as if
Negafix was switched off.
Negafix is essential for the eoptimization of negative scans since it compensates for the compression in dynamics and colors from the mask of the film. Even if you scan very old
negatives with an unknown emulsion the
manual mode works magic rather than tweaking in PS. Pls consider watching a small tutorial explaining exactly <a href="https://www.silverfast.com/showmovie/en.html?movien=172" target="blank">how to edit and create
Negafix profiles manually in "expert mode"</a>.
Best,
JAN
