The first SilverFastAi plugins for SCSI scanners will come during the next weeks. FireWire and USB plugins will come later, but I can't say when.

I'd sure like to see support for firewire on a Epson Expression 1680 under OS X.

Thanks.

OSX demo Version of SilverFast HDR is online

You can download the OSX demo of SilverFast HDR now. It comes with SF_App, our stand-a-lone application.

Put all into one folder, start SF_App and go to "Import" and SilverFast HDR comes up.

how about an official statement of lasersoft about the support for macOS X and upcoming plans? didn't find something similar on teh site. not in the press- or support-section. compared with the quickness you pushed a windows XP-statement out, quite a bit disappointing...

pardon me, if i overlooked something on the site.

SilverFast OSX release version

Expect the release of SilverFast HDR OSX as well as SilverFast Ai OSX for SCSI-scanners beginning of next week.

The release version will available free for download for SilverFast 5.5 users. Expect the official announcement within the next few days.

I see the note that OS-X support of SCSI scanners will come next week. Odd... since it will be a rare case that someone with OS-X will have a SCSI scanner (without adding a card). Most from G3 on up will have USB or Firewire Scanner.

Me... I have Epson 1680, FIREWIRE.

The lack of such support is delaying my transition... will it be soon? Thanks!

I use OS X. I've also been using Mac's since 1985. I have a three year old Nikon Coolscan III scanner that I would really like Silverfast to support under OS X. Currently I'm using v**s**n, but I'm not very impressed with its color adjustment.

I'm using a Epson 1680 FIREWIRE also. When will we see support for this in OSX?
I know one thing, EPSON needs to get off their lazy buts and release some carbonized drivers for this scanner.

Some of you act like SCSI is dead or something. Just because you don't use it doesn't mean nobody else does.

With all the whining going on over the lack of support in OS-X for older peripherals like printers and such, seeing LaserSoft take the lead in delivering support for older SCSI scanners as well as the newer USB and FireWire scanners under OS-X is welcome news for the entire Macintosh community.

LaserSoft gets my vote... and my money!

People -

I really like your software. It does a much better job running my Microtek 9600XL than Microtek's own software ever did.

Unfortunately, AI is just a bit too expensive for me right now.

Is there any chance that you'll be coming out with a Mac OS X version of SilverFast SE?

I'm a happy SilverFast user.
But my Microtek X12usl is not supported under Mac OS X.
Hopefully this is coming??

I also have several clients running a Mikrotek ScanMaker X12 USL. They're great scanners for the price.
I sadly had to stop using the SCSI interface as my new DP 1 GHz G4 PowerMac is allergic to the SCSI interface delivered with the scanner.
(One reason why the scanner was cheap - cheap and nasty SCSI card?)
That means I can't use SilverFast until the USB version is ready.
How long do I have to hold out?
