Options for thumbnail File in EPS and Tiff Files

I need the ability to declare the type of thumbnail and preview file in a Silverfast EPS file. We output EPS but the preview files we pull into Quark are unusable. Quark likes Macintosh JPEG format, but there is no way in Ai6 to set the characteristic for the preview file. Today I have to pass all scanned files through a PhotoShop action to set the thumbnail to be Macintosh JPEG. Silverfast needs to have this built in.

Currently SilverFast don't save any preview into the .eps files (DCS / EPSF). This feature could come in future, but this is not for sure.
kind regards

Good evening, Mr. Kratzenstein:
Thanks for your answer, however Ai6 must be embedding some type of preview, else the icon we see would be a generic document icon instead of a representation of the image. If PhotoShop is to be believed, when we first open an EPS file from SilverFast and perform a "Save As" command, when we get to the dialog box that allows us to choose a Mac 8 bit, Mac 1 bit or a Mac JPEG preview file, the "Macintosh 8 Bit" option is highlighted. This is what leads us to believe the Ai6 software is embedding the 8 bit format. Unfortunately, Quark needs to see a JPEG preview to prevent pixelation in the picture box.
In an operation where we are scanning thousands of images per month, not being able to set the preview to being Mac JPEG adds additional steps to the process before a book designer can use the file in Quark. It is my opinion that SilverFast should have the ability to embed a selected preview format such as Mac JPEG.
Please let me know how I can make a feature request of this requirement.
Again, thanks for your time.

Dear Mr./Mrs Browkatowski.
Currently SilverFast writes a Tiff Preview in the EPS files. On MAC platforms this Tiff preview is in Motorola format on Windows it is Intel.
I spoke to our project manager today about your request. Your request will be discussed but I?m sorry that I?m not able at this time to tell you if and when such a feature could be implemented.
Best regards
Eric Flyvbjerg.
