Will there be any software for the Canon FS2710 Canoscan film scanner? I hope so.

Dear Ron Luxemburg,

Up to now the Canon FS2710 Canoscan film scanner is not supported by SilverFastAi.

Dear Gerhard Wolff,

I am curious to know why the Canon FS2710 is not supported.
I think that your software can improve the quality of the scans considerably.

Dear Theo Hildering,

that's not our problem. The adaption of a scanner to SilverFast Ai is not a simple job. It has to be done individualy for each scanner model.
And it requires three things for minimum:
a) Very detailed informations about the specific scanner, which we may get from the manufacturer, e.g. the SCSI-command list.
b) Two scanners for tests, adaption, etc.
c) Time for our developer team.

Best regards

As we have said in the past, we have no control over development for the Canon scanners. If we cannot get the required SDK/DDK's, it is impossible for us to develop for the scanner.

Canon has been keeping their information proprietary and chooses not to allow third party developers in. Why, I don't know.
