My SprintScan 4000 scanners run on MACs and use SilverFast 5.2.0r5. About 150 photography students use them in a design school.
I need a way of locking the critical CMS preferences from being accidentally changed by my students as they explore the SF software. I have tried locking some of the preference files in the SF folder, but SF crashes when I do this.
One Idea could be to separate the CMS preferences into a separate file within the SF folder so that this file can be locked without causing SF to crash? (Maybe a separate 'Options settings file'?)
I'm sure there are more elegant solutions to this problem that a software engineer could come up with.
Much thanks for your forum and listening to us users
Kind Regards
Peter
