Prescan Failure with Lino 2650 Windows Version

I just downloaded the demo version for the Lino 2650 for Windows (2000).
The scanner is apparently detected OK even though I hit cancel when the plug and play searches for a driver (since no such driver exists).
When I hit Prescan, the Prepare Scan box comes up for a long time (about 2 minutes), the scanner initiates a calibration cycle, and then the Scanner Not Ready error message displays.
At this point, it is impossible to close the error message box, nor to exit Silverfast. The only remedy is to kill the process in Task Manager.
Is there any hope of getting this to work?

Dear lmenzin,
i would think this should work one way or the other although Win 2000 is not up to date anymore...
First: Are you perfectly sure the scanner still works ?? This could be a lamp Problem or the like...
IF SO:
Can you try to use different ASPI versions ( e.g. in our download section )
OR
can you either give it a try on a Win XP machine and or with another SCSI Card ?
With those results at hand you may contact us using the support assistant on
www.silverfast.com ...
best regards,

I don't have a WinXP machine immediately available, but I've ordered an Adaptec 2940 card to try a different SCSI card.
Is there any sort of SCSI test utility for Windows that can be used to test SCSI issues?
I will also try to rule out scanner hardware by trying the scanner with its native Linoscan software on a Mac G3.

Dear lmenzin,
please have a look at the other thread where I suggest you another driver for your SCSI adapter.
Anyway it seems to be a good idea to try out a Adaptec SCSI adapter.

Dear lmenzin,
unfortunately i am not aware of such a testtool :-(
Its a good idea to do the testing with the original software, good luck !
