General Question (Heidelberg CPS Linotype 2200)

I am using the Heidelberg software for this scanner and recieving minimal results. I work for a graphic design company and we'd like to get something useful out of our transparency scans (mainly slides), hopefully to take straight through to production. I'm positive that this scanner has the capabilities of producing a clear, sharp scan from a transparency, but it remains to be seen. Can anyone back this statement up? I am thinking at this point that it may be the software, I was wondering what you all had to say.
Thanks.

Dear charlieg -
Please download a
demo version of SilverFast for your scanner and test it. There are a lot of possibilities to increase the quality of scans.

Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the quick reply Christoph, I'm actually downloading a demo right now. Any advice on settings/tweaks for transparencies on this particular scanner?

Dear charlieg -
Please download our
documentation too and look at it. Look also at Support >> online reviews and toutorials. SilverFast has a lot of possibilities. At the beginning you can use the Auto - button but try also colour management settings and the settings at
NegaFix. If a film profile will not be at your satisfaction, you can also create your own film profile with
NegaFix.
