Heidelberg S3400 Aperture Size
PostPosted: Wed Aug 14, 2013 8:45 pm
Hello,
I would like to find the correspondence between scanner aperture size and the chosen scanning resolution in Auto Mode for the S3400 drum scanner. My question is exactly the same as this one which was previously asked about the Howtek 4500
aperture-size-t2742.html#p10173
I want to experiment with different aperture sizes for my scans. I realize that the aperture will be automatically determined by the software tot use one of the 38 apertures on this scanner based on the resolution DPI value that I enter for the scan. But I don't know what aperture (in microns um) corresponds to any given DPI setting (or range of DPIs). I want to know this so I can relate the aperture to different film grain types.
If you can provide basically the same information as this example from the Howtek but for the Heidelberg S3400, that is exactly what I would like to know.
Thank you very much for all your help.
