Hello there,
the long awaited Scannerdriver for Canon 9950F is out (meanwhile).

Scanner works with Silverfast Launcher in Stand alone modus in OSX 10.6.8.

Are there any PlugIns available for Photoshop CS 5?
Maybe for 10.5.8 and 10.6.8 and later on?

At the moment, the System for me is 10.5x and 10.6.x …

And: In what Modus does the software works? 32bit or 64 bit?

To be able to start SilverFast from within Photoshop CS5, you have to make sure Photoshop starts in 32-bit mode. Usually during the installation of SilverFast 6.6.2r5 a two icons are placed on your desktop, one of them to accomplish this task of starting photoshop cs5 in 32-bit mode.

SilverFast 6.6 is a 32-bit application

to start Photoshop in 32bit is no problem under OSX.
But I still don't know where to get the plugin.

Without that…how to integrate Silverfast ind the Photoshop software?

Does the newest software also works with my »old« scanner?

But meanwhile and for testing in need the CS5 Plugin for SF6.x

Installing SilverFast 6.6 after photoshop CS5 has been installed will automatically install the plugin for photoshop.

Once the previous steps have been done, in photoshop under File/import you should be able to find the option to start SilverFast

There is a 64 bit version of SilverFast 8 as well as a 32 bit version

No, the Canon CanoScan 9950F is not yet supported with SilverFast 8 (Please check the discussion thread about this scanner and the 9900F for further info).

but that does'nt work.

After Installing I have »ONE« alias. With that Icon I can start the »SF Universal Launcher«.
Ist does NOT oepn Photoshop in a 32bit Modus.

AND:
I have again a Folder called SilverFast Application in my Application Folder.
In that Folder I can find 2 Plugins:
1: SilverFast (CanonSDK-SE_CS3).plugin
2:SilverFast (CanonSDK-SE).plugin

No CS5 Plugin.

I copied these Plugins in the Import-Folder of the CS5 Plugin Folder. No result.
Than I made to »alias« of them and copied them in the Pluginfolder, leading to thei original Position in SF-Application.
No result.

So…either I have the wrong plugins or I copy them in the wrong way or wrong folder.

CS3 works with these Plugins still without problems.

In this case you will have to tell your computer to start Photoshop CS5 in 32 bit mode.

-In Finder navigate to the folder where photoshop CS5 is installed
-Right click (ctrl+click) on " Adobe Photoshop CS5.app" to open the context menu and choose "get info"
-In the info dialogue you will find a checkbox "Open in 32-bit mode", activate that option

Photoshop CS5 will start in 32-bit mode as long as this option is active.

There should not be any CS5 Plugin, the plugin called "1: SilverFast (CanonSDK-SE_CS3).plugin" is the right one for CS5

-Create an alias of this plugin, leaving the original in its place
-Move the alias into the folder:
mac/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5/Plug-ins/Import-Export

Restart your computer and voila!
