When can I expect SF Plus for Canon 8800F and Mac OS X Lion?
On website I can only DL SF for Microsoft systems

reading on LSI website it seems Canon 8800F drivers for OSX Lion are not available but you can download them from Canon support page.
Will 8800f scanner supported soon?

I am running Snow Leopard and Silverfast 6.6 and it is quite annoying I can't upgrade both due to lack of support...

We are working on implementing this scanner as soon as we can. We know canon has a driver, however we have not been authorized yet to make use of its libraries.

I am really looking forward to upgrade to SilverFast 8: I actually use bundled SE version but I will take the opportunity to upgrade to SE Plus although I am still considering Studio Ai too.
I just need it SilverFast 8 working on my scanner

Thanks for the info re: updating the Canoscan 8800f driver.
I hate to be 'one of those people' but will this be very soon? I need my scanner TODAY!!!
I just hope that it's not going to be months down the line.

Since the implementation does not depend exclusively on our side, I can not tell you if this will be very soon. Once we are authorized and have access to the libraries, we would be able to implement the scanner in a matter of days. However, we do NOT have such access now. It might be months until we get this from Canon.

would it be of some help if we sign a petition to canon in order to speed up the process?
As far as I can understand you are just waiting the legal "go" from Canon and there are no technical issue to support Canon 8800F scanner on Silverfast 8 under Lion

No this is really a technical not a legal issue.
