iSRD feature Ai 6.6.0r4 for 8800F in 48 bit

Thank you finalized scanning iSRD for CANON,
excellent works in a scan in 24 bit!

However, when I scan 120 Fuji Velvia (medium transparency film)
in 48 bit (not HDR) 1200 dpi,
included with the regime iSRD, as in manual mode and automatic,
shows that are scanned and processed using an infrared light,
with the subsequent processing remove dust,
but in the final file is not removed the dust
(By the way, when the regime SRD in 48 bit,
not even thought that was handling dust and
dust in the final file is also not removed)
The documentation that is not acceptable
to scan in 48 bit mode, using iSRD I did not find.

1. This is an error or a feature?
2. If the error, then whether it is correct?
3. If a feature is planned to refine,
to be able to use 48 bit with iSRD,
if it is fundamentally possible?
4. Or where I have something wrong in what is configured?

Thanks, K. Belov

Dear Mr. Belov !

You are right, we tried to reproduce the problem and YES, there is a problem with iSRD in 48 Bit for large format images that are quite homogenous !
If we scan slides in 48 Bit or if the midle format films are very dense and contras-rich then there is no problem ( for us ).

It seems that the bug is caused by the software not beeing able to align a certain kind of image data.

I will pass the problem and this thread to my colleague that will deal with this.
Sorry about this, due to the christmas holiday i would expect something to happen in early january !!!

best regards,

Nils Heidorn

I will be expected to change.

Dear LSI team,

I got something similar, although I have SilverFast SE instead of Ai but also version 6.6.0r4.
I did make a scan from a record label with the following settings:
Original: reflective.
Scan type: 48->24 bit.
Filter: none.
Image type: standard.
Image size: 2.9x4.2 cm, scale: 100%
Scan resolution: 300dpi. File size: 0,47Mbyte.
Without ISRD no problem.
However, when I active ISRD the following happened: after opening the scan window the text at the top reads as follows: RGB: prepare scan -> ISRD scan ->RGB:prepare scan. The last text will stay there forever and nothing can be done anymore.

Hope it will help you,
Regards,
Eprom

I have a broblem with all 35mm negative scans. Picture is not aligned with ifrared and thus dust removal doesn't work. This happens also in 48-16bit mode.

Dear Customers,

please note that our development is allready informed about the glitch (see the posting of Nils Heidorn) but as we are still in holliday season it will still take some time but the development is on the problem.

Raising my hand as another Ai 6.6.0r4 user who would appreciate iSRD to work on an 8800F.

The IR matrix correctly represents the image errors, but always stays slightly misaligned in 48->24 Bit Colour scans of 35mm film, and consequently the errors don't get removed in the final scan. Hence I am forced to use the manual dust & scratch removal tools, which makes scanning slow and cumbersome and/or causes a lot of post-work.

It would be great if you could get iSRD to work on the 8800F. If there is something I can do to help (e.g. test scan), please let me know.

Dear Holger,
there are quite some updates on the way, in our tests we are getting much more stable resukts for 48 Bit !
