Canon8800f + Silverfast = useless?

I have convergence errors and missing colorspace conversion with Silverfast SE and Ai. The Canon stock software ScanGear works and calibrates the scanner properly.
Silverfast doesn't use the internal calibration (convergence) nor does it convert to the correct color profile (sRGB).
What's wrong?
