canon 8400f Error

I am running xp an ai With a canon 8400f. Just upgraded to 6.5.0r3. scanned 2 pictures and I get the cannot start the scanner error, I delete the pref folder ( using shift +s+f) It will scan a photo or 2 then same error
Anyone have any Ideas?

Dear Heimanan,


please try this:

- delete the Lasersoft Imaging folder :

On a typical Windows XP installation, the " Lasersoft Imaging " folder is to be found at:

C: \ Documents and Settings \ (your username) \ Application Data \ Lasersoft Imaging


If you haven't yet changed the standard setting of the Windows Explorer you won't see any folder "Application Data". You then want to open the folder options dialogue (from "Extras" the menu) and go to the "View" tab. There you can enable the Explorer to show you hidden and system files and folders as well as displaying the contents of system folders.

Please test now, if the error still exsist. If there is still any problem, please contact our support :
