Silverfast (version 6.2.0r6) still gives the no scanner attached message when launch is attempted. Nikon Scan gives the same message. I know it is not the scanner as it shows up in the system profiler and works fine in v**s**n. Anyone have any suggestions?

Dear jmwhite1

the Nikon LS-4000 with SilverFast 6.2.0r6 does work with panther, though obviously not in your specific setup.

For problem reports such as this please use the support contact form provided at https://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html
It would be quite helpful if you would paste a copy of your SF_Logfile into your report.

However, if you have any other firewire devices connected or any other scanners installed, try removing these and see if SilverFast can find your scanner. If not, please contact support (thanks in advance).

After moving the scanner to my PC and installing the firmware update, I removed all other firewire devices and the scanner did show up in Nikon Scan and Silverfast. I wish there were a different workaround however, as I like using my firewire drive and printer in addition to scanning.

Dear jmwhite1

at present there unfortunately seems to be no other solution to this problem as SilverFast uses the original NikonMAID drivers.
These seem to pose a problem when working with scanners using Epson or Umax drivers and working on the same firewire bus.

Still, we are trying to find a more convenient solution.
Kind regards, Sonny Noack
