Hi ! Igot filmscan35, photoshop 7.1 and the latest version
of silverfast twain for filmscan35 - 601d32. The problem is I do sequnce of scans with no changing to the settings (just press and press scanrgb button) and every time scanned picture have different color cast: some times its more magenta, sometimes more yellow. It's not predictable and very annoying. Can you recommend anything ???

You better use SilverFast as native Photoshop plug-in as color correctness is not reliable through TWAIN.

Hi LSI,

I've been waiting to see if anyone follows up on this but apparently not, so I will have a go. When you say that Twain is unreliable do you mean that several successive scans will produce different results, even with no change in scanner settings or film position? I always thought that Twain would produce variability between the prescan (using your software) and the display of the final image but the result would be consistent for repeated scans as long as nothing changes. Otherwise what could cause the variability except fluctuations in lamp intensity and this would be a problem both with plugins and twain drivers.

So are you saying that the image looks different in P/S 7 than it does in Silverfast 6?
Are you getting a colour mismatch when the image has been scanned then?
Check to make sure the filters have been reset in silverfast as these can effect how a new image will look.
