Why there is no support for OS X on Filmscan35?

It's amazing. I bought this scanner on January this year for using on Mac OS 9 and later on OS X. Now I upgraded all programs to MacOS X. But were are the OS X-drivers for peripherical hardware like scanners or printers?
Microtek says:"OS X? Use Classic - no support on OS X!" GREAT! On LaserSoft Site the same on the Filmscan 35 page in bold letters:"OS X - Not supported!" AMAZING!
Have You ever heard that Apple will no longer support Mac OS 9 or the so called Classic?
I don't want to buy a new scanner produced in the end of 2002 only to have OS X-Support. I want to use the tool I have, especially when I bought it a few month ago. And I don't want to use an old not supported operation system.
Tell me, do You think customers are amused about this? If a scanner model is more than five years old I would understand. If I know this scanner was produced only a few month earlier than the first OS X-Version and it's still on Microtek shop site for selling with:"for WIN/MAC". So what is the problem for support on OS X?

Dear user.

I really understand that you are unsatisfied with the situation.

LaserSoft will try to support all these scanners on OSX, where the SilverFast plugin has the control over the communication with the scanner. In case of the FilmScan 35, this communication is done by a SDK (driver) from the scanner manufacturer. Since the manufacturer has not developed such a driver for OSX, we are not able to work with your scanner on OSX :-?
