Silverfast 8 Neutral Pipette/Densitometer
PostPosted: Tue Feb 07, 2012 4:20 pm
i am new to Silverfast and a novice at scanning and while i'm trying to sort through the various tools i'm finding using the neutral pipette and densitometer functions confusing.
I see in previous versions that using the pipette tool brought up a unique window that offered before and after numbers which would change depending on additional adjustments using other tools - histogram, etc.
in version 8 when i apply neutral pipettes points to my image i see in the neutral pipette palette both source and destination numbers but these remain fixed no matter what other tool i then use.
it's my understanding too that selecting a neutral point with the neutral pipette automatically adjusts the image and corrects the assigned point's numbers (eg the destination results).
but how do i get this tool to reflect additional modifications? what step am i missing?
additionally, i see through the densitometer tool palette that i can assign both black and white fixed points to my image. these seem to work correctly - adjusting their numbers in relation to adjustments i make using other tools (histogram, etc.) - although they do not have readings for before/after.
and while i see that moving my cursor reflects before and after numbers on the densitometer palette itself - is there a way to see the before and after numbers on these assigned fixed points?
looking forward to any suggestions and or help.
thanks.
