Transparency/Reflective Window Disappeared in General Tab

The Transparency/Reflective Window has disappeared from my General Tabs. I have deleted Prefs, Upgraded to latest version, uninstalled, reinstalled (3 X), got a new cable - and it is still not there? Where did it go? Anyone else have this problem?

When the selector for transparency/reflective is not available th escanner has lost contact to it's transparency unit.
In most cases you only have to switch off the scanner and detach the cable connecting the transperency unit in the lid to the scanner's chassis.
Then reconnect the cable and reatart the scanner.
In case this does not help test the manufacturer's software to make sure that the issue is not caused by the scanner's hardware.
When the manufacturer's software also can not use the transparency mode there must be something wrong with the scanner itself.
