Importing processed files to iphoto

Until recently, I used MAC OS10.5, and photoshop for final processing, saving the final files in jpg form with the profile SFprofK(PerfetionV700).icc embedded. There was no problem importing the final jpg files to iphoto, version 7.1.4.
Now I switched to MAC OS 10.6. Unfortunately Iphoto (version 8.1) will not the accept final files, unless I uncheck the embed profile in Silverfast. Then iphoto assigns its own profile, which alters the colors significantly.
It will accept tiff files. But these have other problems for me.
The current working space in Silverfast is AdobeRGB1998,icc, the scanned slides are Kodachrome, and the embedded profile is
SFprofK(PerfetionV700).icc. I have thousands of scanned slides, all saved in jpg format with the profile embedded, and cannot import them to the above newer iphoto version 8.1.
What can be done ? Will any of the newer versions of iphoto accept the files with the embedded profile from the Silverfast application?
I hesitate to scan any more until this problem is resolved.

Dear hjkushner,

I assume you are scanning into HDR(i) files?
Those are special archive files which can only be processed by SilverFast HDR (studio).

Photoshop and iPhoto can not process these files or icc profiles.
Please use the 48 -> 24 output if you want to use the images in iPhoto.

kind regards,

Thank you for the quick reply.
I am using Silverfast 6.6.2r3, and 24 bit, not HDR.
As I noted, I have no problem with the older iPhoto 7.1, using the profile SFprofK(PerfectionV700).icc that Silverfast embedded.
Only with the newer iPhoto 8.1.
Now, to use iPhoto with the slides that I had scanned via Silverfast and then processed with Photoshop and stored in jpg format, I have to change the embedded profile to AdobeRGB1998.icc, or something similar, using Colorsync on the MAC.
But this distorts the color.

It seems that Apple has altered iPhoto, without warning or considering the affects of the changes.
Is there any way around this ??

Thanks

Dear hjkushner,

In this case please check that your colormanagment is not switched off.
In the Silverfast option's CMS tab make sure the settings are:
Input -> internal: ColorSync(Mac) / ICM(PC)
Internal -> Monitor: ColorSync(Mac) / ICM(PC)
Internal -> output: RGB

Otherwise indeed the scanner profile will be embedded.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
