ICM Profile Problem

Just beginning with SF and puzzled...

Out of the box settings produced dull and lifeless scans (Braun Multimag 4000) so:

In Options... CMS... the Intput->Internal box is set to None
I then quit, leaving it at "None" and carry out an IT8 Calibration with a Kodachrome IT8 transparency (E091215) and everything seems to go fine, producing an adjustment value of 1.3
The Target is then automatically rescanned and the preview now looks much more vibrant
If I then go back to Options... CMS... and Intput->Internal this is now set to Image Colour Matching (ICM)
However, if I then click "Apply" or "OK" I get an error box that says, "In order to work properly, the following settings are missing: Scanner (Kodachrome)"
The only way out is to return the profile to "None"
My subsequent scans are, understandably, dull once more. :(

What am I doing that is wrong? I'm really struggling so any help would be appreciated!

Dear customer,

Please apply the image automatic or set the shadows and highlights manual with the shadows highlights tool or in the histogram.
For automated batch scans "auto for ADF" in the option's auto tab should be activated.

The Input -> internal setting must be set to ICM(PC)/ColorSync(Mac).
Please make sure that the settings for normal transparency scans are also correct this is required for the Kodachrome mode to work correctly.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Hi, this is picking up on an old thread as I didn't sort out the problem and only now have returned to it.

I still get the "In order to work properly, the following settings are missing: Scanner (Kodachrome)" error box showing up when I click Apply or OK

CMS settings are as follows:
Input -> Internal "ICM"
Internal -> Monitor "ICM"
Internal -> Output "<RGB>
Scanner (Kodachrome) "SF_K (MS Scanner)"
Internal "Adobe RGB (1998)"
Grey "<None>"
Output/Printer (Greyed out)
Rendering Intent "Perceptual"
Embeded ICC Profile ticked
Profile to Embed "Adobe RGB (1998)"
Plug and Play CMYK greyed out

Could you tell me what I need to do to prevent this happening? What are the missing settings?

Thanks.

Please make sure you have set those values for normal transparency mode.
They are necessary for the Kodachrome settings to work correctly.

Kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.

Many thanks. I am still not sure what you mean - sorry to be so slow to understand. Which values do you mean?

Also do you mean setting Transparency in the General... Original... box where the options are either Transparency or Document Feeder?

Just switch to normal transparency mode.
Then open the preferences and the CMS settings.
now set
Input -> Internal "ICM"
Internal -> Monitor "ICM"
Internal -> Output "<RGB>

Input "SF_T (MS Scanner)"

Now the settings in Kodachrome mode should be accepted.

kind regards,
Arne Ketelhohn.
