Need help. I have been using SilverFast with a Plustek 7500i SE Scanner for over a year with little problems. I have scanned, edited, rotated and saved over 3000 slides and negatives, some dating back to 1953 using SilverFast. I was saving the SilverFast files to Drive C My Pictures, then to an external hard drive as backup. Had no problems. My computer failed which required I restore the Windows XP operating system to new (clean Drive C). I downloaded and installed all Windows XP updates and reinstalled SilverFast. Now when I scan a slide, edit and rotate it, the SilverFast file (picture) will not save in My Pictures or any place else (external drive, USB memory) in the rotated configuration. The picture saves unrotated with the message it is a " Read Only File that cannot be rotated". If I rotate the saved picture file and give it a new name, it saves correctly rotated . I do have Corel Photo Album 6 which came up with the restore on the system, it tries to manage the pictures. but it was there before the failure.
Anyone have an idea what is happening and what I need to do to correct the SilverFast nonrotation save problem? I have over 10,000 more slides to scan and donot need the extra work.
